The Fightback to Save Public Health Care & Stop Privatization

COVID-19 has revealed the devastating impact of decades of hospital downsizing, long-term & home care privatization, and underfunding of our vital health care services.  Ontarians will not accept further privatization and cuts. Momentum is building. We can win better care and stop privatization.  Let’s make our public health care a key election issue, let’s make it too big to be ignored!

The Ford Government has: 

• Awarded the very worst for-profit long-term care operators new licenses & expansions, despite their horrific records of negligence and COVID-19 deaths. Ford also plans to award more than 18,000 longterm care beds to the same for-profit operators in  30-year licenses if we don’t stop him.
• Privatized COVID-19 testing & vaccinations.
• Made plans to privatize public hospitals’ surgeries & diagnostics.
• Passed Bill 175 which clears the way for Ford to privatize the last remaining public parts of homecare.
• Cut, privatized and deregulated vital health care services when he took office, before the pandemic stopped him. Now Ford plans a budget with years of austerity and cuts post election. To meet his budget targets, $18 billion in permanent cuts to public services, including health care, would be required.

Send a clear message to our politicians that you will vote to protect our public health care

• Put our lawn sign up in your yard, our car decal on your car and/or our window sign in your window. Ask your friends to do the same. 
• Tell your local candidates that you want to hear a clear commitment to ending privatization of health care.
